How to authorize/re-authorize your Salesforce connection
Whenever you set up a new Salesforce connection or you simply need to re-authorize it, you would need to go through specific steps.
In order to do so, please go through the following steps:
- Log in to MyRapidi.com.
- Select your Rapidi Service.
- Select Connections.
- Choose the connection that you want to set up or you simply want to re-authorize and unfold the Salesforce.com connection.
- Press the 'Authorize' button; you will be prompted to log in to your Salesforce.com instance (if you are not already logged in in another tab in the same browser). You should log in with the SFDC user that you want Rapidi to use for accessing your Salesforce.com instance.
- You are then prompted with a screen to authorize Rapidi to access your Salesforce.com instance data; please Authorize Rapidi to access your data.
- Click on “OK” to authorize the connection.
- Next, you will see a screen called 'Allow Access? ' where you will be asked to “Allow” the connection.
- Once you’ve clicked on “Allow”, the authorization process will be completed and you are done!
When you authorize Rapidi, a refresh_token will be sent to MyRapidi. This refresh_token can be used by your Rapidi service to access your Salesforce.com data. The refresh_token is only stored in encrypted form in our database. You can at any time redraw the access for Rapidi from within your Salesforce.com instance (go to Setup, then in the left-side menu: Administration Setup - Manage Apps - Connected Apps OAuth Usage).
Note: Every time you set up a new Salesforce connection, you would need to finalise this process by reading the full layout. in order to do so, you would need to unfold the Salesforce.com connection and click on Read Design. It will read all available Salesforce objects and its fields. You would need to give it a few minutes to run completely. Once it's done reading the layout, you will see this message 'Finished reading layout from SFORCE001' at the bottom of the page. Afterwards, you are good to go!
